Attorney Lawrence Berliner will moderate a special education school panel discussion hosted by the Stamford JCC on March 14th, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Admissions directors and private special education school administrators will be available to answer parents’ questions in navigating the process in finding the appropriate placement.
Part 1: Panel Discussions
Attorney Lawrence Berliner, will focus on understanding your child’s special education rights and will guide parents in finding appropriate educational solutions and placements to help parents whose child is struggling in school. Schools will be represented by key personnel who will highlight the benefits of their school’s individualized programs and offer a snapshot of the environment they provide.
Part 2: Conversations
Each school will have a table so that parents can engage in break-out sessions with school representatives and find out how the school could best fit the needs of their child.

About the Schools:
Grove School is a private therapeutic college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 7-12 and postgraduate year/transition year program for students ages 18+ in Madison, CT.
The Southport School is a private day school for students in grades Kindergarten through Grade 8 with language-based learning disabilities, dyslexia and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in Southport, CT.
Winston Preparatory School is a private day school for students in grades 4-12 with learning disabilities, dyslexia, nonverbal learning disabilities, and executive function difficulties in Norwalk, CT and a postgraduate transition program Winston Transitions for students ages 17-21 in New York City.
This workshop is free and open to the public, and is presented by the Stamford JCC Inclusion/Special Needs Department.
